ArielWelcome to Taproot!

Taproot is located in an elegant and very private (and very quiet) setting with a beautiful, unobstructed view of the Blueridge Mountain Range. You can't go wrong with this site for a memorable and stunning horse country wedding or event.  This historic setting boasts spectacular sunsets and rolling green meadow views.   Ancient English boxwoods and gardens surround the property.  Horses grazing in the Middleburg countryside complete the perfect mood for your  hunt country wedding.   Privacy is also complete in this setting as the wedding site is 1/2 mile from the public road.

Taproot is an example of a federal manor home designed in the Palladian mode.  It is a replica of the historic Hope Plantation in Winsor, North Carolina, a grand manor house built by David Stone, Governor of North Carolina and a US Senator.  Enjoy walking through the gardens and ancient English boxwoods.,  Enjoy cocktails on the lawn or around the pool area.  You and your guests will go back in time.

There is ample parking, lots of flat ground for a small or large tent(s), a perfect long, stone driveway for carriages to deliver the bride and wedding party if you choose. The ceremony may be on the elevated front porch so that everyone can see the bride and groom or under a decorated arch with the mountain in the background or around the boxwood circle in front of the house.  We can also provide several elegant bedrooms with private bathrooms for the wedding party and parents of the bride and groom to get ready in for the day. We can put together room blocks at nearby Hotels for guests accommodations.
